Dedicated in-house facilities
We are one of less than a handful of UK survey companies with complete dedicated in-house facilities. When you instruct VS Traffic, you can rest assured all projects will be completed in-house from survey through to analysis and final reporting - guaranteeing you total quality control. Your instruction is delivered by us to your specification. It is not uncommon for some firms to engage in back-to-back contracts, and in limited cases this brings benefit to the client. However, in most cases, clients don’t intend for their projects to be passed on beyond the contracted party based on the commercial agreement as well as Health & Safety and Data Protection issues – but it is not uncommon for projects to be sub-contracted for a second and third time. One of the main drawbacks of subcontracted jobs is that the objective can easily change from one focussed on the actual specification and therefore accuracy, to one focussed on pricing mark-ups. Not all contractors have the same priorities, whilst standards may vary considerably.

With the recent flurry in off-shore counting start-ups over the past few years, many firms have been transferring the counting from their firm (if any) to an offshore third party firm over which they have no control. This appears to have benefitted local firms by dramatically lowering counting prices. As a principle, pricing wars and accuracy/quality have a sensitive and fragile threshold – sooner or later, either quality or price has to yield. This is further compounded by the total absence of control over the counting operation.

We hold complete control over our counting operations. We have been firmly committed to carrying out all our operations in house, designing our own counting software and have invested significantly in this respect. Our focus is on uncompromising quality, accuracy and client service, rather than maximizing company profit.
